RESCUE is the last voice for dogs and cats who, through no fault of their own, find themselves awaiting an uncertain fate at our county Animal Control and Humane Society. Since 1995, we have operated with the philosophy that for every animal we place we will be back to rescue another precious dog or cat. To date, we have fulfilled that promise over 14,000 times.

While all of the cats and dogs presented on this site have stayed at Maricopa County pounds and Humane Society, they are now safe in our care.  Being cared for by our dedicated, loving volunteers until their permanent loving homes can be found. These amazingly resilient and wonderful beings reside in the homes of our dedicated foster parents or with our boarding partners. RESCUE does not have a shelter.

RESCUE's MatchMaking Service

Through our unique MatchMaking Service we work to pair up each animal with the most appropriate adopter to achieve a happy, lifelong match. As a result, RESCUE's cumulative return rate is 3%, one of the lowest in the nation (nationally, over 50% of all adopted animals are no longer in their adoptive home after just the first year).

RESCUE's Vision

RESCUE's vision is to elevate the status of animals in society through facilitating a culture change in how people acquire animals and how they commit to those animals they choose to make a part of their family.
