General Comments

Godiva has to be one of the most beautiful cats we have ever seen with a pair of blue eyes that will leave you breathless! Her gorgeous looks only complement the loving and playful personality this girl has. Making this girl even more special is her determination to overcome a handicapped paw. Due to a past injury in her left front paw, Godiva has a permanent limp that forces her to place more weight on the ankle of that leg than on the paw. This doesn't slow our girl down though...she walks on the tip of her paw like she is tiptoeing!

Godiva LOVES people - adults and kids alike! Godiva truly believes it is her job to ensure that her people never suffer from loneliness! Don't be surprised if upon bringing Godiva home, you sprout a 4 legged purring shadow...Godiva has been known to follow her people around purring in happiness the whole time just because she's near her special person! When you pick her up to cuddle with her, Godiva will purr in contentment as she enjoys being held and petted. Godiva does not discriminate when it comes to snuggling...she will happily curl up on your lap, your chest, or your bed when she wants to be close. It's amazing how attentive Godiva is to the mood that you are in...when it's time for bed Godiva settles in to catch some zzz's, if you offer to play Godiva will be raring to go, and sometimes as you sit down to eat Godiva will decide that she should eat as well!

Godiva is such a joy to watch playing - she plays with such enthusiasm that by just observing her, you end up having almost as much fun as she does! She is so full of energy, that as you watch her play you forget that she even has a disability! Godiva loves all toys - mice, bouncy balls, sparkle balls, feather toys, wand toys, pens, you name it and she'll play with it! She zips across the floor chasing mice, balls, and whatever else you toss across the floor. On 1 occasion after I threw a toy down a hallway, she went chasing after it so fast that she ended up sliding across the tile and into the wall! One of the funniest things I saw her do happened when I rolled a ball down a hallway. Of course she takes off after it at top speed, the ball bounces off the opposite wall, comes back my direction, and Godiva has so much momentum going she can't stop herself to turn the other way! She's capable of entertaining herself as well - after a feather wand play session, I left the feather dangling over the edge of the kitty condo and she continued playing with it!

When she's not busy snuggling or playing, Godiva loves to explore whether it's going into closets or climbing her favorite cat condo so she can look out the window to see what's new and exciting. In her downtime, Godiva loves to rest in one of her comfy kitty beds or on top of her cat condo. Her scratching posts of choice are horizontal cardboard scratchers and vertical sisal-covered scratching posts. Godiva is quite the spirited girl who not only loves to run and play but in her true Siamese nature, loves to talk with you to make her wishes known.

Godiva is the complete package - a kitty that not only loves to play but also loves to spend time snuggling with her people. Godiva does fine with other friendly kitties; she'd also do fine as your one and only furry friend. With her endearing personality and her obvious appreciation of being in the company of her people, Godiva will fit into just about any type of home because she adapts and reacts so well to her environment and the people around her. The more love you give her, the more love she gives back. It's time for this girl to experience all the good things that life has to offer her! She'll be ever so happy with a family that is willing and able to give her all the TLC that she is so anxious to give her people in return!

RESCUE History

Godiva was turned into the West Side pound as a stray. Her stunning good looks won her not only a chance to go up for adoption but what seemed like the kitty lottery - placement at Animal Care and Control's No-Kill Pet Adoption Center. Unfortunately, the Pet Adoption Center does have a policy that if an animal comes down with a cold they must be transferred to the West Side pound to be euthanized. When Godiva broke with a cold this was her fate until RESCUE stepped in to help.
