The success of any relationship relies greatly on the compatibility of those involved, and nowhere is this more evident than in the relationship between pet and owner. Nationally, over 50% of all adopted animals are no longer in their adoptive home after the first year, a statistic RESCUE is committed to rendering obsolete. Our focus is ending the cycle of abandonment by bringing compatible pets and owners together. Here, it’s more than a matter of choosing a cat or dog on a whim. We’re interested in learning as much about you as you are about your pet of choice, insuring a relationship that stands the test of time.

Ready to make a commitment? We’d like to learn a little about you first. Potential adopters are asked to complete a MatchMaker Information Form that is the first step in finding your perfect match. Are you active or more of a homebody? Do you have children or live alone? Do you live in a home with a big yard or an apartment with a small patio? By taking the time to consider your lifestyle, we can identify the pet or pets most well-suited to your lifestyle, setting you both up for a lasting relationship.

RESCUE cats and dogs reside with dedicated foster parents and our boarding partners, and once we know a little about you, you’ll have the opportunity to meet your potential lifetime match.

Spending quality time with a pet before adoption helps avoid the rush to judgment decisions that result in more than half of all animals no longer residing in their adoptive homes within a year’s time. It’s about taking the time to do it right, to ensure both of you find the ideal companion for a lifetime.
