General Comments

We'd like to introduce you to Skylar!  As you can see from her photos she is quite striking.  If you have not watched her video we encourage you to watch it. Skylar was a tremendously under socialized dog when we rescued her.  She has required an enormous amount of time, patience and effort from her dedicated foster parents to help her become the dog she is today.  While she has come a long way, she does require a specific environment in order for her to continue to learn and thrive.  Her foster has some notes below:

"Skylar is a high-energy girl who is looking for a structured home environment that will keep her entertained and having fun. She takes some time to warm up to new people, but once she knows you she will always want to be cuddling next to you if she isn’t off playing with a toy. Skylar is a bit of a Velcro dog and prefers to be with her chosen person at all times. Skylar went through basic training and has excellent basic obedience. Her future home needs to be interested in furthering her current training and teaching her new things to keep her brain engaged. Skylar has been going to fly ball practices with her foster mom and is doing well learning the basics. She is very smart and learns quickly once she is comfortable with you, but she will get into mischief if given the opportunity. She is a young dog after all and still has a lot of puppy in her. Stealing socks is her favorite pastime.

Skylar does well with other dogs her size or larger in general, but at home she would prefer to have all the attention for herself. She is not a dog park dog. She LOVES the water and would like a home with a pool. Swimming and fetching her ball from the pool are her favorite activities. In the winter, she settles for playing fetch on land too. Skylar is house and crate trained. She is an excellent walking buddy, but she still needs help with her leash manners when she encounters new people or animals."

Skylar's unique looks will capture the attention of a lot of folks.  We hope that if you are one of those drawn in that you are reading this and the information about the home Skylar requires.  If you have what Skylar is looking for, please fill out an application today.
