Volunteer with RESCUE

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! RESCUE is a volunteer-driven organization, and our volunteers are our lifeblood. We want your volunteer experience to serve as an outlet for your talents and passions, resulting in a rewarding experience for you, our animals and the rest of the organization. Our volunteer base consists of over 400 dedicated people, and we are continuing to grow stronger with each new addition to our team! We think RESCUE has the best volunteers anywhere. Many have been with us since we first began back in 1995. Our volunteers are professionals, mothers, fathers, and students; like you, all of them want to find the perfect balance between home life, work life, and community life. The rewards of volunteering can be boundless and will unfold in countless ways as you begin to interact with and care for our cats and dogs.

RESCUE's Volunteer Program is structured to allow you to choose a role that compliments your talents, interests, and schedule. All we ask of our volunteers is that they choose a role that they feel passionate about, and that they follow through on their volunteer commitment. We offer a variety of roles to choose from, some include working with the public, others working directly with the animals, or a combination of the two. Most of the volunteer roles have time commitments that range between 1 - 4 hours per week, or every other week, with a choice of shifts and locations. We require a scheduled three month commitment, after which you can extend your current volunteer schedule, or re-evaluate and perhaps move into another role(s). Each group of volunteers has an appointed Committee Leader, who will not only provide your training but will also coordinate meetings and assist in your ongoing support.

Please view all of our Volunteer Opportunities to see which one is your area of passion! We offer many different choices!

Once you have identified your perfect role you will need to attend a New Volunteer Orientation Meeting .

If you find that you are not in a position to join our Volunteer program at this time, please consider the many other ways you can contribute to our mission!

RESCUE at ASU

This enthusiastic club on the Arizona State University Campus works to communicate RESCUE's message to college students. Their official mission is to raise funds, and spread awareness to ensure that RESCUE's vision be carried on and advanced by our society's newest generation of adults. The club organizes fundraising and public events on campus every month and you can find them around the campus handing out flyers, answering questions, and collecting donations. These great supporters of RESCUE have raised hundreds of dollars for our cats and dogs! If you would like more information, visit the club's website at www.asu.edu/clubs/rescue.

  • We do not offer a youth volunteer program (under age 16). Children between the ages of 12-16 must attend the Orientation Meeting and volunteer with a parent.
  • Community Service projects will be accommodated, provided the volunteer attends the Orientation meeting and is prepared to make at least a three month volunteering commitment.
